What My Mum Taught Me ❤

It's Mother's Day. the one day of the year where we publicly honour the woman who gave birth to us, cooked for us & cleaned us, kept a roof over our heads and provided a shoulder to cry on.

I wanted to write a little something about my own mum today, because my mum really is incredible.

She's one of the kindest people you will ever meet. Honestly. She has such a big heart and will always put others before herself. She's also the most loving mum I could ever ask for. Never scared to express her love, or show just how much she cares for you. Her heart is so big and there's room in it for everyone. She's the reason why I believe kindness is one of the most important things in life, and the reason why I've brought my children up the same way.

My mum has always been there for me. She's cooked for me, cared for me, played with me, read to me, coped with me through my grumpy teenage years, listened to me rant and been a shoulder to cry on when I've needed it through my adult years.

She let me sleep in her bed, even as a teenager if I was feeling down. And now as an adult, she's always there to make me cups of tea, feed me chocolate and let me unwind and release my emotions. Whenever I need her, she is always there, always. No matter what.

My mum is such a warm, comforting person to be around. She's the kind of person you just want around you all the time, she makes you happy when she's with you. Even if all you are doing is sitting and enjoying each others company.

She's taught me to appreciate every day. She's shown me the importance of family, and just how much it means to her. She's shown me that there's no such thing as being too caring, too loving. My mum has been such a strong influence in my life, and shown me how important it is to show your family how much they mean to you. She's shown me how to be the best mum I can be.

One more thing my mum always says, and I will always remember. Some people grow up wanting to be teachers, lawyers, doctors, vets. My mum wanted to be a mum.

"The best thing I ever did was become a mum"

I love you Mum.

Happy Mother's Day  xxx

Oh love this post!! I totally agree with your mum. You can never tell your children you love them, too much. And 100% becoming a mother is the best thing EVER!! Thanks for linking up to #sundaystars xxx
