Today I am back with another Film Fan Friday, the last one of 2016! This time it's a little bit different as it's a festive edition! So all the questions will be based around Christmas and i'll be including lots of different bloggers!
I wanted to share a few of my favourite Christmas adverts this year! It's always so exciting when they start showing on TV, as it means Christmas is coming! I know everyone always looks forward to the John Lewis & Coca Cola adverts, but I have a few other favourites too!
I LOVE Christmas! Everything about it is just so..magical. Families coming together, bundling up warm, getting cozy by the fire, food..lots of food, and presents. Every one truly takes the time at Christmas to be extra kind and loving to anyone around them.
I love when families have their own Christmas traditions.
My family always have a fairly large celebration on Christmas Eve. With party games, music, presents and lots of food. It's always such a special day because it's the one day of the yesterday where all of my family actually get together.
I wanted to share with you some ideas to start making your own traditions!
* Create a Christmas Playlist/CD. I always love this one. Perfect background music for decorating or having a Christmas disco in your living room!
* Movie night, with lots to eat! I do this pretty much every night of December, but it sure is a fun one!
* Bake some Christmas cookies! It doesn't have to be anything complicated!
I'm planning on making some Gingerbread Snowflakes!
* Take your children to the dollar store/pound shop so they can pick out
gifts for their friends/siblings!
* Go on a evening walk to look at all the Christmas lights where you live
* If you have children, take them to visit a Grotto!
* Read 'The Night Before Christmas' on Christmas Eve
* Make some Christmas crafts/gifts and homemade decorations!
* Buy a new board game for Christmas Day and play it!
* Invite family/friends over for Mulled wine & Mince pies! Yum!
* Throw Reindeer Dust over the lawn on Christmas Eve!
* Create a Christmas Eve box for your little ones, including some Christmas books, hot chocolate & new pjs!
If you're anything like me, you've still got a lot of gifts left to get. I find that the hardest people to buy for are those who you just want to get a little something for, and not spend a huge heap of cash on. I am a huge fan of homemade gifts, I feel they are more unique and personal. So, I've put together a little list of projects from this blog, to hopefully inspire you to get creative and give something a little different this year!
Christmas is the most fun time of year for doing crafts, there's so many choices, ideas and different things you could choose to make! Decorations, cards, wrapping paper, tags, gifts! The opportunities are endless!
We were recently given this big box of goodies from Wynsors Shoes, to see what we could come up with this holiday season.
Included in the box was;
* Red felt
* Christmas templates
* Reindeer Hot Chocolate
* Thread & String
First of all we decided to create little hanging tree decorations using the templates. As you can see we made a Father Christmas & a Present! Colouring in & using pompoms, cotton woll & sequins for decoration!
I couldn't figure out anything to use for the sticky back red felt, so we decided to just cut out some Christmassey shapes, and decorate them with my white paint pen. Then it came to me, these would make adorable gift tags! So that's what we did!
What do you think?
If you are looking for more ways to keep the children entertained this year, have a look at their round up here!
This post was sponsored but I did not receive monetary compensation.
I received craft supplies & slippers in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
Well, we've reached our last week of #Christmaslittlemakes! In the spirit of getting all Christmassy and trying to steer clear of the commercial side of Christmas, a few of us got together over the last few weeks to venture though the Christmas month making and baking to celebrate the festive period.
#Christmaslittlemakes is all about making and crafting with our little ones as well as making our homes look seasonal with some grown up crafts too! I've loved looking through and stealing lots of ideas for lovely homemade things to get us in the Christmas spirit! Jemma at Thimbleandtwig, Sarah at WhimsicalMumblings, and Fee at Oneofeachmeandmine would love you to join up any seasonal craft posts, new or old to savour this Christmas period!
We have come up with a few themes for inspiration, but please don't feel bound by them! Link up any Christmassy craft you like! #Christmaslittlemakes will be running, with the following themes on....
26th: Light (CLOSED but why not take a look back at Week 1for inspiration)
3rd Dec: Sparkles (CLOSED but why not take a look back at Week 2 for inspiration)
10th Dec: Star (CLOSED but why not take a look back at Week 3 for inspiration)
Hello again! We have another special guest here for the Film Fan Friday series! It's the amazing Georgia from Georgia Petite. FFF is a series about asking fellow bloggers a few questions about their taste in movies! Welcome!
I love giving books as gifts, especially to children. There's just something so special about giving a beautiful, new book. It just seems like such a thoughtful, even sentimental gift.
A really sweet thing I found out is that, in Iceland they have a little tradition of giving the gift of books on Christmas Eve, which they then spend the night reading. A newer tradition we have adopted over here is a Christmas Eve box, which often contain a Christmas themed book or two.
Hope you've been out and about enjoying this festive season and, of course, one or two mince pies! This is my favourite time of year and I'm looking forward to reading all the Christmassy or Wintery things you've been enjoying!
Come and link up all those wonderful festive days our blog posts to Capturing Moments. You can either link up a blog post, an Instagram photo, Facebook Post or a YouTube video; so whatever platform you have captured your moment on you are welcome to link it up! Don't forget to join us in the Instagram community too #HMcapturingmoments. Capturing Moments is hosted by Happy Mummy, Whimsical Mumblings and Thimble and Twig and we'll choose our favourite post and link back to their blog in the next Capturing Moments. This week, I am linking up our post about our visit to one of our favourite local places. Greenwich.
I hope you all have a fab week!
Before I had children, I always thought I wouldn't use reigns. I know people have different opinions about it, and I just sort of naively assumed my children would be the sort of children who don't run off. Who stay where to tell them to stay, walk along beside you holding your hand. HAHAHA.
But seriously, I wan't really a fan of harnesses, but this fantastic looking harness really caught my eye.
We were recently given the opportunity to try out the Hobbledehoo harness and I have to say, I love it.
I've seen different sorts of reigns before. Ones that just sort of wrap around, and honestly don't look very comfortable. We used to have a different sort of one which sort of looped over their wrist, but it's not the best idea. This Hobbledehoo harness is fully padded on back and front, making it perfectly comfortable for the child. My little girlie keeps wanting to wear it in the house! So that's got to be a good sign!
It's honestly so easy to put on too, you pop it over their little heads and clip it up under their arms. Then you may have to adjust the straps so it fits snugly. It's really easy to adjust as well, so say if they are wearing a padded coat or something, you can easily make it bigger. There no fiddly bits to untangle, or try to understand what goes where, it's so simple.
Truthfully, it's my new favourite item. It's so perfect. My little girl is nearly 3 now and (unless she's really tired), is not a big fan of the pushchair anymore. Sadly though, she is also not a big fan of listening to me! So this came at the perfect time.
Another little thing, the fabulous company were so kind as to send me 2 reigns. I was truely touched. I said to them that I really really struggle when I go anywhere with both my little ones, and no pushchair. Which is true. They run off in opposite directions, or one falls over and the other one legs it! It's pretty impossible.
So I genuinely want to say thank you for allowing me to have one for each of my little monsters, we can finally go out together without the need for the mammoth double pushchair!
I have wanted to try this for a while now, but I haven't actually owned a glue gun for that long so I haven't been able to! I knew I wanted to try it this year, and I loved the look of these snowflakes!
You Will Need:
* Glue Gun & Glue
* Grease-proof Paper
* Snowflake Templates
1. Print off or draw some snowflake templates, make sure they are quite dark.
2. Place the baking paper on top of the template.
3. Trace over the template with using the glue gun. This is fiddly. Mine are messy, but snowflakes aren't all exactly the same, so it's fine.
4. When they've cooled, gently peel them off the paper and stick them onto your windows or mirrors!
I am linking up over the next week with Jemma from Thimbleandtwig & Fee from OneOfEachMeandMine. We would love to have you join us and link up any seasonal craft posts, new or old, for little or large ones, to help celebrate the magic of Winter. Find out more about this here…
Ohh this is my favourite thing we have made together, in forever! I love it so much and the little ones really enjoyed it too! It was such a huge success! I highly recommend you try to make Snow Dough with your little ones! (Or if you don't have little ones, make it for yourself! ;) )
I've really been struggling with ideas of what to get my little ones for Christmas this year. My little girl is obsessed with Disney princesses, but I didn't want to just get her that sort of thing! I wanted a little something a bit different, trouble was I couldn't think of anything! My little guy is really difficult to buy for, as he's nearly 18 months. So not a baby any longer, but also not old enough for big fiddly toys. That's why I was so pleased when we were given the opportunity to work with Wicked Uncle and try out a couple of items from their online store.
We haven't actually been properly Christmas Shopping this year! Boo! I've been ordering a lot of gifts online or picking stuff up here & there, but we haven't gone on a proper shopping trip! We decided this past weekend we were going to visit Clarks Village and hopefully buy the remaining gifts I need to get! Clarks Village is always a great place to visit at Christmas time, everywhere is always decorated with lights and Christmas trees! The have even had an ice rink in the past! The Coca Cola truck tends to visit there too, and you'll often find Santa's Grotto!
The Thermos is a world's first non-contact thermometer. After downloading the Health Mate app, it allows you to sync all your readings and keep track of temperature changes. The app can also send you reminders and even allows you to send the results to your GP.
It provides accurate readings by sweeping the thermometer over the forehead, without actually making contact with skin. This is so handy for taking your children's temperatures! It means if you need to keep track of their temperatures when they are asleep, there is no need to wake them! It's completely unlike any other form of thermometers, avoiding contact with skin or any bodily fluids, making it the most sanitary way to take someone's temperature.
The LED screen on the thermometer shows the reading shortly after taking, and like I said it stores all your readings in the app. You can take care of the whole family by allocating up to 8 different people on the app.
I think this thermometer is fantastic. My little ones are always catching little bugs, or having high temperatures, and they are actually very light sleepers. Any noise, any touch and they will be wide awake, so this is the perfect thermometer for me, no need to risk waking them!
Anyone else feel like time is just getting away from them as we hurtle towards Christmas and the New Year? It's week 3 of #christmaslittlemakes people and I still haven't written / made my Christmas cards or got all the presents sorted yet. Luckily for you lovely people there are always crafts to save the day.

I am linking up our post about breakfast with Father Christmas at Wyevale Garden Centre Ongar.
I was looking for a unique, cute craft to do with my little ones that we could hang on the tree. My little ones can bored pretty darn quickly, so quick & easy crafts tend to be the way to go. I can't deal with planning all of these fancy activities for hours before hand! So we came up with these little cardboard star decorations and I love how they've turned out!
*This is a collaborative post* Choosey allows you to create your own video greetings cards! You first choose the card, either for a special occasion such as CHRISTMAS or maybe just to say hey! You then upload a video message you would like printed inside. You can upload to their website from a computer or by installing the Choosey app, and the video prints as a unique code in the card, for the recipient to scan with their device.
For the best experience, they recommend using an iPhone 5 or later, iPad or later running iOS 8.1 or later. Android devices must have version 2.3 (Gingerbread) and the Choosey app installed, to be able to watch the video.
I have wanted to make these for so long! Many years! I've always seen them in magazines, or metal versions being sold for ridiculously high prices so I knew I wanted to recreate my own! I love how they've turned out! I wish I had the time to make more! Let me know what you think!
We recently visited The Christmas Shopping Show at the Royal Bath & West Showground. We were expecting it to be a fun filled day out, lots of halls, with lots of stalls! An impressive Santa's Grotto, Reindeer's and fun things for children to do!
Colouring books for adults have recently become super popular. I hadn't tried one myself, but I love doing creative activities like this, so I thought I'd enjoy it. My little girlie loves colouring too, and always has her crayons out. Which is perfect when we were given the opportunity to try out a beautiful new colouring book.
