Give A Book This Christmas!

I love giving books as gifts, especially to children. There's just something so special about giving a beautiful, new book. It just seems like such a thoughtful, even sentimental gift.

A really sweet thing I found out is that, in Iceland they have a little tradition of giving the gift of books on Christmas Eve, which they then spend the night reading. A newer tradition we have adopted over here is a Christmas Eve box, which often contain a Christmas themed book or two.
Scholastic have created a fantastic gift guide, to help you find the perfect book to give children this Christmas for their #GiveABook campaign. With so many different books to choose from, they make it simple for you to find the ideal present. Whether it's Harry Potter, Lego, Guinness World Records, or even David Walliams books you'll be sure to find something fantastic!
We were sent 'The Special Christmas Tree' and 'Spot's Christmas' and they are such lovely books. The Special Christmas Tree is a beautiful little book about a bunny & his friends, searching for the perfect tree. The illustrations are beautiful too. Spot's Christmas just reminds me of my childhood! I used to love Spot, and I am so happy to introduce it to my little ones. I also purchased 'Dear Santa' which is a lovely rhyming, lift the flap book and of course, the classic 'The Night Before Christmas'!

Have you bought, or are you planning on buying a book for a child this Christmas?
