The GoodFather - Parenting Book Written For Dads, By A Dad

You may remember a while back I had a guest post written for me, all about an upcoming book release - a different sort of parenting book. The author himself wrote the guest post for me explaining a bit more about the book - The GoodFather. A Parenting book written for dads, by a dad.

Now the book is officially published, and I have been able to grab a copy to review for myself! In all honesty, I think it's a fantastic book. Everywhere you turn there are parenting books for mothers. Pregnancy, Birth & Parenting all aimed at mothers, which is ok, but what about the dads? I know for a fact my other half would never have read any of the baby books I owned, even if I forced him too! So that's why The Good Father written by Lee Price is a genius idea. It leads dads through pregnancy, birth and beyond as told by Lee, a lot of which was based on his own personal experiences.

It's most definitely not your typical parenting book. It's honest, it's real and sometimes it's pretty hilarious. It explains all the things dads to be should know, but without all the technical jargon - trust me, us mums don't understand it all either! It's really cleverly written, in a way that makes you want to read on like that of a novel. It's really interesting to read all the factual important information, from a different point of view, in a different light.

With different sections such as an A-Z on all the terminology, advice on scoring points with your baby mama, key events during pregnancy, a more realistic and understandable (and hilarious) baby size guide. "Your baby is now the size of a...mountain lion." Haha. You know what I mean.

I personally loved the section towards the end with quotes from real life parents. (Including a mention of yours truly)

All in all I highly recommend this book to any expectant dads with a sense of humour, or even without one. It's a real great, fascinating yet informative read. I've already purchased a few more copies myself for some expectant dads I know!
