Book Of The Month - The Tiger Who Came To Tea

Book Of The Month is where my little ones & I focus on one book each month, read it, watch it (if possible) and do fun activities based on it! This month we've been enjoying one of my little guy's personal favourites (he insists we read it almost every night!) - The Tiger Who Came To Tea!

The Tiger Who Came To Tea is such a lovely book, I remember reading it when I was a child (Although I was always sad the tiger never came back!) My little ones have grown to love it too recently - so I knew this had to be our next book of the month!

We've been doing a lot of baking together recently, the weather's cold, our tummies are rumbling - it's the perfect time of year for homemade treats! So of course our first activity had to involve some baking. We decided to make some Gingerbread tigers. (As I said in a previous post, I've recently discovered a foolproof recipe, so we've been making a lot of gingerbread recently!) This is the recipe that we used, and we simply cut two large circles, and four tiny triangles and moulded them together before baking. Then we used orange icing, and black and white icing pens to decorate.

We also thought it would be a fun, not too messy, but easy to do activity - to make our own Tiger Masks! I cut out four small triangles out of card for the ears, and they glued them on to the back of some paper plates. They then painted the plates extremely orange and stuck on strips of black paper and stuck on the two eyes made from white card.

We of course then had our own little tea party, and they brought their toy tigers (Both of which they have had since they were babies, one of their first toys!) and they ate up their tiger biscuits! We all really enjoyed these activities this month!

Have you read The Tiger Who Came To Tea with your little one?
Or perhaps you remember it from when you were younger?
