Gingerbread is the perfect thing to bake with your little ones, or make gifts for loved ones this Christmas. But of course, Gingerbread isn't just for Christmas, it's for anytime! It's so delicious and so versatile - it's our favourite thing to bake. After a good few years of baking, and experimenting with recipes - I feel like I've finally cracked it. They taste amazing, crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle - and easy to bake as well! The perfect foolproof Gingerbread recipe and I'm sharing it with you today!

You Will Need:
* 3.5 Tbsp Golden Syrup
* 175g Plain Flour
* 60g Light Brown Sugar
* 2 Tsp Ground Ginger
* A Pinch Of Cinnamon
* 75g (room temperature) Butter
* 1/4 Tsp Bicarbonate Of Soda
* Cookie Cutters
* Rolling Pin
* Parchment
* Baking Tray
* Mixing Bowl
* Clingfilm

1. Pop the golden syrup, brown sugar and butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Stir it until it all melts. Take off the heat.
2. Put Bicarb, Flour, Ginger & Cinnamon into the mixing bowl.
3. Stir in the sugary butter until fully combined.
4. Stir it until it begins to form a dough, then use your hands to finish off the dough and grab it out of the bowl in a handful.
5. Wrap the dough in clingfilm and allow it to firm for 30 minutes in the fridge.
6. After the 30 minutes, allow your oven to preheat at 190c and use your rolling pin to flatten the dough to roughly 3mm.
7. Cut out your shapes, and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment. They do spread though, so don't put them too close together.
8. Pop them in the oven for about 10 minutes. When you take them out they should still be a bit squishy, they will firm up out of the oven.
9. Leave them to cool & decorate if you wish, or leave them plain!
