Buzzcloth - Eco Friendly Beeswax Food Wraps {Review}

After reading up and learning about the damage our rubbish is doing to the planet, I made a huge list. A list of things that I needed to stop buying, stop using and find a suitable eco-friendly alternative. On the journey to zero waste, it's important to take baby steps and approach each issue one at a time, otherwise, it can become overwhelming. So on my list, I included the fact that I needed to stop using plastic sandwich bags and clingfilm (as well as foil and baking paper). I used sandwich bags and clingfilm on a regular basis, my little ones take packed lunches to nursery and we often ate sandwiches throughout the week too. I was throwing away plastic on a regular basis and I knew that needed to change, then I came across beeswax wraps and they seemed too good to be true.

Buzzcloth are a fantastic company that make beeswax wraps. The wraps are created in the UK and are simply made from organic cotton, jojoba oil and beeswax! So as they are made from all natural materials they are so much better for us, and the planet than plastic wrapping - not to mention, when you are finished with them they decompose too.

I was still a little unconvinced when they arrived, wondering how something that felt sturdy and hard could be wrapped around anything. So I put them to the test, and I am happy to say I immediately changed my view. They are so simple to use and so effective. They wrap around things really nicely and it sort of sticks to itself, a lot like clingfilm. You can use them for wrapping over food such as a fresh loaf of bread or half a cucumber, you can use them for wrapping up individual homemade snacks, you can use them for covering bowls of food or wrapping up sandwiches.

They are really versatile, and as they are reusable, all you need to do is shake them off or give them a wipe with cold water and you can use them all over again. Buzzcloth wraps come in 3 sizes - small (perfect for a sandwich), medium, (for covering a bowl of food) or large (for wrapping a loaf of bread) and you can purchase them in different variety packs too.

I am absolutely in love with Buzzcloth beeswax wraps and we will be using them on a regular basis now! If you fancy picking up some of your own and help make a difference to our planet, you can pick up some of your own here.

(Quick note, beeswax wraps do not get on with heat, or raw meat. So don't wash them in hot water, let them touch raw meat or put them in the oven or microwave!)
