Film Fan Friday - Chocolate & Wine & I'll Be Fine

Here is my second edition in my Film Fan Friday series, asking fellow bloggers a few questions about their taste in movies! Today we have an amazing guest - Sam from Chocolate & Wine & I'll Be Fine! (Amazing name by the way)!

#1 What are your top three favourite films of all time?
Well this is tricky! I would say Nativity, Legally Blonde and Bridget Jones (though there is quite a significant shortlist also…).

#2 What is your favourite movie genre?
Well as you can see from the above answers, I like films that are easy to watch and generally go for Rom coms (scrap that, I usually only watch Romcoms, much to my husband’s dismay). But I also love any film about or set at Christmas and Nativity has been our favourite for a good 6 years now (yes, long before we actually had children of our own)!

#3 Do you remember the first 'grown up' film you watched?
Yes, it was American Beauty. My dad rented it from the Spar (as you did back then) and, quite frankly, it was completely inappropriate for a 15 year old. I am not sure what he was thinking. I was so traumatised by its weirdness that I’ve never actually re-watched it as an adult!

#4 Have any movies ever made you cry? If so, what? Or what makes you cry every time you watch it?!
I cry at everything, literally everything. The NatWest advert made me cry yesterday… I am set off by everything and anything, and think I have cried at every film I have ever watched bar Captain America and American Beauty. I think that is why I generally stick to RomComs – at least they make for “happy cries”.

#5 What is the scariest film you have ever seen?
Haha! I don’t watch scary films as you may have guessed by now. I would probably say Bambi. I haven’t seen it for quite some time but I remember it being very scary when I last saw it, when I was 3.

#6 If there was a film based on your life, who would play you?
I would want it to be Reese Witherspoon or Isla Fisher. But as they are both quite short, and American, it wouldn’t be particularly realistic. Emily Blunt or Emma Watson maybe? Then again, that would be completely unrealistic as they are so pretty! My husband would obviously be played by Ryan Reynolds though…

#7 What would be the opening song on the soundtrack, to the movie about you?
“Fearless” by Taylor Swift. Not that I am Fearless or anything, just because it is my favourite song and would make for a good opening credits/setting-the-scene scene!

#8 Harry Potter or Disney?
Disney! I love Harry Potter but I don’t think the films (particularly lots of the early ones) do the amazing books justice.

#9 If you had a dinner party, which 3 film characters would you invite?
Elle Woods (Legally Blonde), Bridget Jones, and Christian (from Moulin Rouge). It wouldn’t make for particularly in-depth conversation or anything like that, but these three helped me through some of my hardest/darkest days as a teenager and I would like to thank them! And I would also like Christian (Ewan McGregor) to sing for me!

#10 What's the very last film you watched? Did you enjoy it?
Bridget Jones’ Baby. It was absolutely amazing. I laughed out loud from beginning to end, and it has been a long time since I managed that!
Thank you for taking part Sam! Great answers! I love Isla Fisher! I love that you put Bambi as your scariest movie, haha! Also, I need to watch Bridget Jones' Baby!!
