Mindfulness In Parenting

Mindfulness is focusing on the present, being conscious and aware during that particular moment. Acknowledging and accepting your feelings & thoughts, as well as those around you. Mindfulness can help us appreciate and enjoy life more, by understanding ourselves better. Parenting can be hard, and by enjoying and embracing mindfulness, it can help you all lead a happier, calmer more relaxed family life.

We were recently given the opportunity to read and review an excellent book written by Amber Hatch titled 'Mindfulness For Parents'. Amber is a writer, teacher, mother & a childminder, so it's safe to say she knows what she's talking about. In the book she describes (better than me) what mindfulness is, and how it will help you during the challenges of parenthood. 

You know what I mean. Like the time when your little ones wont stop screaming at the top of their lungs, because you have given them the wrong cup. Or the time you tell your little ones it's bedtime, and they tell you they don't love you anymore. Or what about the time that you said no to buying your little ones chocolate, and they scream and scream in the middle of the supermarket. This book can help you deal with that. Help keep you calm, and react to difficult behaviour in a relaxed manner.
With fantastic tips such as how to feel more connected to your little ones, or staying calm in a crisis. Whether or not you have already embraced mindfulness in you life, this books will help you involve it in your family life. Happy Parent, Happy Child. 

I absolutely love this book, and am now trying to embrace mindfulness in every aspect of my life!
