Goodlife Frozen Meals {Review}

We are a fussy lot in this household. I tend to cook the same meals every few weeks, and as a result of that - I have two very fussy eaters! I often struggle to get the little ones to eat vegetables and nearly always resort to hiding them somewhere in the meals. But when we were given the opportunity to try some new, healthy meals from Goodlife, I couldn't say no! It was a great opportunity to try some delicious new meals, and encourage us to eat a few more veggies!

We were given the opportunity to try a variety of different products from their range - Mushroom & spinach kievs with a garlic & cheese sauce, French bean & spinach sausages with Wensleydale cheese, Vegetable masala with cauliflower rice & Falafels with chickpea & cumin.

The first item my little ones and I tried was the Mushroom & Spinach Kievs. We all had a bite and I was pleasantly surprised at how garlicky they were. I've never been a fan of the texture of spinach (I'm funny with textures), and I couldn't definitely taste the spinach but it wasn't overpowering. The mushroom and garlic were a nice combination and the breadcrumb coating was perfect - just the right amount of crunch.

The next product we put to the test was the Falafels with Chickpea, Cumin & Coriander. I have to admit, I've never actually tried falafels before! They have a mild taste, not too overpowering and a pleasant texture. My little guy absolutely loved them and kept on scoffing!

Next, we tried the French Bean & Spinach - with Wensleydale Sausages. I have to say the bright green colour put me off a bit, but that can't be helped when there's spinach involved! I often go for vegetarian sausages as opposed to meat, so I sort of knew what to expect! But I loved how these sausages weren't pretending to be meat, they were extremely vegetabley but really tasty. They hold their shape really well when cooking, but fall apart a bit if you cut into them. Overall though, they were really good and a great vegetabley sausage substitute.

Last but not least, the Vegetable Masala with Cauliflower Rice. I've wanted to try cauliflower rice for a while now, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! If you are expecting it to be more..ricey and less...cauliflowery you might be disappointed, but the texture was pretty nice and I can definitely see us cooking it again in the future. The masala part was made with peppers & sweet potato in a tomatoey coconut sauce. I'm not a huge fan of sweet potato, but combined with the cauliflower rice it was really tasty!

If you are looking to try something new, or perhaps a bit healthier, I definitely recommend giving Goodlife meals a try! You can buy their products from Sainsburys, Ocado and Morrisons.
