Celebrating Easter With A Family Movie Night

We love having movie nights as a family. My husband and I are film obsessed, and we've started to introduce that love of films to our little ones too. Movie nights are a monthly (or more) tradition in our house, with all the trimmings! A good movie, blankets, drinks, tickets, quiet activities and of course, popcorn!

I thought it'd be lovely to spend an Easter evening having a little Easter themed movie night together! I'm sharing a few tips today of different ways you can set up your own Easter movie night with your family!

Choose A Good Easter Movie You'll All Enjoy!
There are lots of great family friendly movies you can all enjoy, depending on the ages of your children! I've got a few fun suggestions here, but Hop & Charlie And The Chocolate Factory are always great options!

Add Some Decorations
If you've already got some Easter decorations up, perfect - maybe you could add a few more near the TV area? If you haven't already decorated, now is a great time to add a few happy decorations! An Easter banner perhaps, lots of rabbits and chicks cuddly toys, and a few bunches of spring flowers would be perfect!

Whip Up Some Delicious Snacks

Rice Crispy Birds Nest Cakes, Easter Cakes, Hot Cross Buns, or even just all the chocolate! To really enjoy a good movie night you need to stock up on lots of tasty treats. Easter is definitely the sweetest time of year, so go big or go home!

Lots Of Snuggles

Movie night is all about cosy, relaxing and cuddling up with your loved ones. So add lots of blankets and pillows (my eldest two love bringing their duvets down for movie night!), get all comfortable and snuggle up with your little ones!

Add Some Finishing Touches

Whenever we have a movie night we go all out! I print or make some tickets for the movie, and my children will use pretend money to 'buy' their tickets and collect their snacks! I tend to use a tray and give them a bottle of juice, a bowl full of snacks, and well as some movie themed activities too! To make it more Easter-y perhaps you could print off some Easter colouring or word searches, and include them in their trays with a few colouring pencils! It's great because if your little one start to daydream or get bored halfway through the movie, they will still sit quietly enjoying their activities too!

Try Something A Little Different

Aside from printing tickets and giving your little ones a tray full of treats there are other really fun, unique ways to make your Easter movie night really special! Perhaps you could buy a popcorn maker, so everyone can add whatever exciting toppings they would like! It's a great way to save money and it means everyone can eat whatever they fancy too. Another fantastic idea, and something I've always wanted to try, is to host movie night outside! The weather is warming up so it's the perfect time to splurge on a projector, grab all the pillows and have a outdoor screening instead!

Giffgaff, the sponsors of The Voice TV show challenged up to think of fun ways you can make the most of a family night in! We were gifted a few fun products to make a family night in more exciting, all the items are made from recycled or sustainable suppliers, as giffgaff is a huge refurbished phone location!

Do you enjoy having movie nights with your family?
