Increasing Blog Traffic During The Festive Period
Unless, like some people you like to take a blogging break throughout December (I don't blame you!) - the festive period can actually be a very busy time, especially when it comes to blog traffic. I wanted to share with you a few ways to help boost that exciting traffic increase.
Ensuring your website is optimised, to make the most of the traffic. There are so many ways to optimise your site, but keywords are essential, title and description tags, ensuring your site is mobile friendly and quick to load.
Inspiring & helpful - but frequent posts will keep the readers coming throughout December. Gift guides, festive decor and saving money posts are always super popular this time of year. Giveaways and competitions are brilliant to feature throughout the festive period too! I mean, who doesn't want to win a gift in time for Christmas!
Research what posts & topics did well at this time last year. Update these posts, write new ones or simply reshare the old evergreen posts. I am constantly sharing past posts, as long as they are relevant for the time of year. I don't like old posts being buried and forgotten about. You never know, they might bring back the same amount of traffic as they did previously.
Now is the time to upgrade, and stop using the generic automated urls that come with free blog sites. If you really want that traffic boost, you need to have your own url. Web hosting is really important if you want to make it in the blogging world, and choosing your host provider is not a decision that should be made lightly. Do your research and ensure that your provider can give you everything you are looking for. The right web hosting services can sometimes be hard to find, so ask around, look for recommendations and make sure the provider you choose will take good care of your site.
