DIY Gingerbread Sugar Scrub

One of my favourite things to make are homemade bath & beauty products. I absolutely love them. It's so much fun experimenting and creating all natural products for yourself. Not only do they often make fantastic gifts, but because you've made them from natural products, you know exactly what's in them and they should be so much better for you than shop bought products. I decided to make a couple of homemade items as Christmas presents and I was asked regularly if I could share how I made them, so here I am today - sharing my DIY Gingerbread Sugar Scrub!

For the Gingerbread Scrub, you will need:
* 1/2 cup soft brown sugar
* 1/2 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 cup coconut or almond oil
* 1/2 tsp cinnamon
* 1/2 tsp ginger
* 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Whipping up a batch of this is super easy, all you need to do is combine all the ingredients together in a bowl! Keep stirring until it is all mixed together, you may need to add a bit more sugar if it's too liquidy or a bit more ginger if you prefer a stronger scent. Scoop it up all put in into a cute, clean & sterilised jar! You could decorate the lid like I did, maybe you could even add a cute little gift tag & twine like I did too!

To use the scrub, all you need to do is scrub it onto damp skin whilst taking a shower or bath, really rub it in, but don't be too rough. Wash it off afterwards and it'll leave your skin super smooth & gingerbread scented! Yum!

In the photo above are the gifts I gave last Christmas, my sugar scrub and also my Oaty Bath Bombs for which I have previously shared the recipe here! I pop the sugar scrub in a jar I had saved (as I love the shape!) and I painted the lid. For the bath bombs I just quickly made a little box from card. I then made the tags myself on Picmonkey and tied them on!
