At this time of year, we’re all starting to think about getting away. Because there’s nothing like the start of spring to make you start dreaming about summer by the sea. Life gets busy, and after a long winter, you want to make sure that you really indulge in the summer. However, you don’t always have to head abroad to do that. Granted, you will get guaranteed weather when you head to the right location. But if you’re looking for a break away and you love to take in history and culture, then why not stay here in the UK? If you are tempted to book a staycation, then let’s take a look at the locations that you should consider next.
Sussex
First of all, we’ve got the incredible county of Sussex. If you want to stay on the coast, then it doesn’t always get as pretty as this. Whether you head to the seaside town of Brighton, you want to explore the historical Hastings, there’s plenty of spots to visit in this county. When you’re here, you’ve got the beaches to explore, but also remember to head inland too. You may be tempted by the luxury country houses and spas, such as Ashdown Park. And if a stay at a spa doesn’t scream staycation to you, what else will?
Birmingham
Or maybe you already live out in the southern countryside and you’re looking to get away to a city for a weekend. Somewhere other than London, that is. Birmingham is a great place for you to consider. Make sure that you stay somewhere central like AC Hotel Birmingham to enjoy all this city has to offer. The Cotswolds

Cornwall
If you want to do a classic British coastal holiday, then head to Cornwall for the weekend. You’ll be able to stay in a quaint seaside cottage and eat fish and chips by the sea. Or, if you want to live it up in luxury while you’re here, there’s always the infamous Paul Ainsworth at No. 6 in Padstow.
Edinburgh
And if you’re willing to go that little further afield, or you live further up north in the country anyway, then don’t forget about Edinburgh. This historic city is definitely a top spot for a weekend getaway. Take in the culture, visit the museums and galleries, and dine in the many Edinburgh Restaurants that will keep you well-fed. And you’ll easily have the weekend of your dreams.
