Cardboard Tube Toy Cars Craft For Kids

We've been trying to come up with some fun craft activities to do together, and as it was Earth Day recently, it got me thinking - I'm sure there's something we could create from the contents of our recycle bin! So I present to you - Cardboard Tube Cars!

They're pretty easy to (if a bit fiddly at the end) but barely any supplies needed! And the best part? It's a craft that your little ones can actually use and play with after too!

For the toy cars you will need:

* Cardboard Tubes
* Straws
* Cocktail Sticks
* Plastic Bottle Lids

- Plus paint/pens & a hot glue gun!

1. Start by letting your little ones decorate their cardboard tubes! We used paint, but you could use crayons, pens or even stickers!

2. Once they're dry, you'll need to cut a wide 'U' shape into the top of the roll, and fold it back for the seat!

3. Pole 4 holes, two on each side, near the bottom of the tube. Make sure you do the holes straight through one side and out the other so they are level.

4. Poke cocktail sticks through the holes, and thread it through a small piece of straw in the inside of the toilet roll. Pock holes in the middle of the bottle lids and attach them as wheels.

5. I added a bit of hot glue to the cocktail sticks, where they went through the lids, so they wouldn't come off.

And done! What do you think? My little ones are really proud of them!
