My children, like many others absolutely love collectable toys, and if you have to unwrap them too, to discover which one you've got, that's a huge bonus! That's what they loved about these fab little unicorns from Zuru 5 Surprise Unicorn Squad.
The unicorns come in their own little plastic balls, and you have to unpeel the wrapping to open the ball. Once you've opened the ball they open much like an orange, and you have to peel back the different segments to find out which character you have got, and what accessories come with it!
The segments contain different things, according to which unicorn you have got. There's tiny shoes, a comb, stickers, wings, the unicorn itself and even unicorn poop! The unicorn poop is a sort of putty, more than a slime and it comes in a sort of pastel colour. If you combine two different poops together, they change colour too!
Onto the unicorns themselves. There are 13 in total to collect, but I definitely think some are rarer than others, and you'll be super lucky to find the extra rare Golden Fairy Unicorn! One thing we really love about this little guys is the ability to be able to switch up and change their accessories and hairstyles, ideal for swapping and trading to make your own unique unicorns! As I mentioned, each unicorn comes with a little comb so your children can brush the unicorns long, colourful manes too.
Overall, I think they are super sweet little toys. My 7 year old girl, my 5 year old boy and my 2 year old girl (with supervision) all really love these guys. They are a bargain price at only £6.99 available from Smyths Toys.
The only downside to these sweet toys is the sheer amount of plastic. I know that tends to be the price you pay for 'unboxing' type toys, but it is a lot.
Saying that though, they are really lovely toys. Not too girly or oversexualised like unfortunately a lot of children's toys are nowadays. They're just cute. Cute is good. There is plenty of opportunity for imaginative play with these unicorns!
