Holidays in your caravan: clubs sites to visit this year


With international travel likely to be problematic this year, many people are looking for new forms of holiday accommodation. Before these last 18 months, caravanning and motor homing may not have been a style of holiday that wasn't on as many people's radar. But this is now changing with increased interest and awareness of the benefits of a caravan or motorhome to provide a socially distanced holiday option. Almost half of the population are planning a staycation this year, and a recent survey revealed that only 40% of people planning a UK holiday this year would consider staying at a hotel.

The UK has plenty of places to set up camp, so whether you’re looking for a place to stay or a change of scenery, the UK has plenty of options. With so many locations open throughout the year to stay in your motorhome or caravan, club sites are the perfect spot for your caravan or motorhome holiday this year. I'm sharing a few suggestions of fantastic destinations to check out in 2021! 

Peak District

Aside from gorgeous landscapes and perfect little towns and villages, the Peak District has something for the whole family. The Peak District is one of the UK's most cycle-friendly regions, or perhaps you'd prefer a picturesque walk or hike spotting famous landmarks. Or maybe your family are more adrenaline junkies and fancy trying something new, such as caving, rock climbing or even a Go Ape experience! The Peak District is a wonderful destination for a family holiday.

The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is a place of natural beauty, with stunning rolling hills, valleys, gorgeous stone cottages and medieval churches. An absolute paradise for explorers and tourists. From top restaurants to quaint cafes, historical landmarks, stunning castles, and magnificent mansions. Not to mention, it's perfect for families visiting, due to the wonderful array of family-friendly activities and attractions.

Cornwall

It’s no surprise that Cornwall has become one of the most popular family destinations in the UK when you realise just how much it has to offer for a family holiday. From beautiful beaches to idyllic little towns with cobbled streets. Gorgeous countryside including iconic spots like Land’s End. A truly magnificent place to explore as a family. 

There are so many magical, family friends spots to visit in the UK - so if you are planning a holiday, staying at a club site run by The Caravan and Motorhome Club or Camping and Caravanning Club is a good start. For a small annual fee, both of these clubs offer a wealth of benefits for members, including access to owned and accredited campsites as well as discounts on insurance and entrance fees to UK attractions.

While Caravan Club membership or Camping and Caravanning Club membership aren’t necessary to stay on all of their sites (some allow access to non-members), it means you get access to all of the very best campsites the UK has to offer.
