8 Frugal Ways To Spend Halloween With Your Little Ones

Halloween is finally here! We've been celebrating it since last week (our house has been decorated since last monday)! I haven't taken my little ones trick or treating before, I feel like we live in the wrong area, and they go to bed pretty early anyway - so that's out of the question at the moment. So if you are looking for fun & frugal ways to celebrate Halloween with your little ones, then look no further as I have a few ideas! 8 Frugal Ways To Spend Halloween With Your Little Ones.

{This is a collaborative post}

No Halloween is complete without pumpkins! As you are spending time with your little ones, it might be a good idea to decorate some pumpkins as oppose to carving them. But there are so many ways they can get decorating! Glitter, Paint, Stickers, Pom Poms - the choice is theirs!

Of course, to really get into the spirit of halloween, you need some treats. You could just nip to the shop and buy some treats, but why not spend that time baking some of your own! Cookies, biscuits, cakes, if you're ambitious you could even try baking a pumpkin pie together!

If you fancy getting out of the house, and going on an adventure with your little ones - perhaps they might enjoy wandering around in a maize maze! They are really so much fun, and I know my little ones love them! Or if you dont fancy that, how about going exploring in a pumpkin patch! You could even pick your own pumpkins!

If it's too chilly to head outside, why not snuggle on the sofa under a blanket, with a bowl of treats and watch a halloween themed movie! There are plenty of child-friendly films to watch, but still with a Halloween theme.

How about preparing a fun treasure hunt for your little ones? Write down some fun clues and hide little treats all over the house. Or, weather permitting, you could even hide treats in the garden, like you would for Easter, only Halloween themed! (If our garden was bigger, I know my little ones would love this!).

If you all fancy doing something a little creative, there are so many fun crafts & activities they could try. I've got a few ideas here, and if you search online, you'll find plenty of free Halloween colouring sheets too!

Perhaps you are all tired out from a long, busy day of fun Halloween activities, and you all need to do something more relaxing, and help them wind down before bed - why not sneak in some last minute Halloween fun and read a few themed stories. They don't have to be even slightly scary - our personal favourite is Room on the Broom. But there's also Meg & Mog, Peppa & Maisy themed Halloween books, as well as loads more!

At Festive Lights, they are sharing a fantastic free printable Halloween Countdown calendar at the moment! The perfect way to hype your little ones up and get them all excited for the spooky season! Plus, if you head to their Facebook page, you'll see a wonderful variety of Halloween activities, tricks and tips too!
