Celebrating Advent With Scholastic Books!

I've always loved the idea of a 'Book Advent Calendar'. It's such a sweet concept, and a brilliant way to encourage little ones to love reading. Not to mention building up their collection of lovely, perhaps Christmas themed books. What has put me off from doing it in the past is the cost and the issue of picking 24 different, age appropriate books!

Scholastic Books have come up with the perfect solution - their very own Advent Packs. 24 Age appropriate books, all selected and packaged for you - all you'll need to do is wrap them up!

We really received an amazing selection of books - I know my little ones will love them all!

I wrapped up Let's Find Fred for Day one, it looks like a bright, fun book. Perfect to start the month! We love fairy tales so Cinderella And Her Bossy Sisters sounds lovely. My little guy is obsessed with dinosaurs, and I know he's going to love Dinosaur Police, it looks hilarious! My First Christmas Sticker Activity Book looks fantastic! Like any other little one, my children are obsessed with stickers! A Merry Shopkins Christmas is the perfect addition for my little girlie, she is Shopkins crazy!

The Snow Princess & Fairy Magic look like really sweet, girly books - my little girlie will love them. (The illustrations are gorgeous too!) Pig The Elf looks hilarious, just the kind of fun book we love. We actually have Stick Man, it's one of our personal favourites - but the book is really ripped so it'll be nice to replace it with a new, shiny copy. We've read Ketchup On Your Cornflakes before - Nick Sharratt books are so fun aren't they? We loved it when we read it then so my little ones would love their own copy.

Alien's Crazy Christmas looks a lot of fun too. Aliens & Father Christmas in the same book is sure to be hilarious. SuperBat looks great! All about a bat who wants to be a superhero, but no one believes in him. The kind of book that's sweet, funny, but with a nice moral to it. My little girlie is definitely going to love Potion Commotion! She often pretends to be a witch, and she's going to love the wand that's included! The Cat & The King sounds like a good read - one you can read over a few days, and it's Nick Sharratt again so it's bound to be good. Snow Ponies looks really sweet too, and the illustrations are lovely.

Another lovely Christmas story to treasure - When Santa Comes To Stay and Father Christmas Comes Up Trumps will be a fun read for bedtime! My little ones have a very silly sense of humour (as do I) so this will be great for us. Stick Mans First Words is a perfect book for us! As my little guy is learning his words, and we are huge Stick Man fans! Speaking of huge fans, Meet Elsa, a Frozen book is a lovely addition for my little girlie. Aww I love The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch, so a new Christmas themed book is amazing. The Lighthouse Keeper's Christmas is sure to be a Christmas book to treasure.

Sproutzilla sounds ridiculous! In the best way, I'm sure it's going to be a fun read! Another dinosaur book, yay! Dinosaur Christmas will definitely be a hit with my little guy. Eight Jolly Reindeer looks lovely too, a nice board book to save for any future children too. Last but not least Kipper's Christmas Eve. Kipper books have been around for a long time, I used to love them when I was a child. They really are the sweetest, loveliest books and I can't wait to share this one with my little ones.

As I said, I really love the sound of all these books, and after receiving this advent pack it's made me adamant that this is a tradition I'd like to keep going each year. The Scholastic Advent pack is really a great idea and it takes all the hassle out of buying each and every individual book. As a price of £29.99 it's quite a bargain as that comes out at about £1.25 per book. You definitely couldn't get these books anywhere for that price! This advent pack we received is aimed at ages 0-7, but you can also get an age 7-11 pack too!

Overall I really am very impressed with this pack, and I definitely recommend you checking out the Scholastic website for lots of Christmassey book ideas!
