Valentines Day will soon be here and it's the perfect time to have a conversation with your children about love and kindness. For our homeschool learning this week, we've had 7 days of Love themed activities and crafts, we've also decorated our home with a Love theme too.
I have compiled a list of the best 'Love Themed Books For Children', each one as beautiful, positive and engaging as the last. These books are also a fab jumping off point to start a conversation about what love means to you.
So whether you're relaxing on the sofa, enjoying a story together, giving the book as a gift to a loved one, or cuddling up before bedtime - these love themed books for children are bound to make you all want to snuggle up that bit closer and feel the love in your home.

Guess How Much I Love You
Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney is such a sweet, classic picture book. It's the story of Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare trying to express just how much they love each other.
Simon Sock
Simon Sock by Sue Hendra & Paul Linnet is a lovely story. All about Simon, the odd stripey sock. All the other socks in the sock drawer are paired up, apart from him and he searches for his perfect match.
No Matter What
No Matter What by Debi Gliori is a heartfelt story about the unconditional love a parent feels for their child. When Small asks ("You'll love me..) no matter what?" and other questions about love, his mummy reassures him her love will never run out, no matter what.

While We Can't Hug
While We Can't Hug by Eoin McLaughlin is a cute story about love in the current times. It's about Hedgehog & Tortoise who are best of friends but aren't allowed to hug. So they find many other, sweet ways to express their love instead.
What Colour Is Love
What Colour Is Love by Linda Strachan is a lovely, vibrant book about a little elephant who wonders what colour love could be, only to discover it's every colour.
The Smeds And Smoos
The Smeds And Smoos is another one to add to the collection from the amazing Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. It's a fab little story about 2 aliens who fall in love, and their families disapprove. A modern day Romeo and Juliet (for kids... With a happy ending) but peace is soon restored and love conquers all!

This Love by Isabel Otter is a beautiful book all about love around the world. About how love is shared and understood by all. The universal language of love.
Love Is
Love Is by Diane Adams is such a sweet, heartfelt story about a little girl and a duckling. They understand what is means to care for one another, while experiencing the highs and lows of what love means.
Always In My Heart
Always In My Heart by Juliet Groom is an adorable little board book about a parent and child penguin. It's about spending time apart, but knowing that the love is always there in their hearts.
You're All My Favourites
You're All My Favourites by Sam McBratney is one of my personal favourites, as I have 3 baby bears of my own! In this gorgeous story, three baby bears question who is the parents' favourite and Mummy and Daddy reassure them they are all perfect in their own little way, all equally special and equally loved.
I'll Love You Till The Cows Come Home
I'll Love You Till The Cows Come Home by Kathryn Cristaldi is a funny, sweet and silly little story about the depth of love in a family, with delightful expressions of parents telling their children how much they are loved.
Love Monster
Love Monster by Rachel Bright is the warm and witty tale of a funny looking monster, desperately searching for someone to love him, and the beautiful idea that true love is out there somewhere.
Love You Forever
Love You Forever by Robert Munsch is such an honest, loving and heartfelt little story. It'll tug on your heartstrings I promise you.
It's the tale of a woman and her son, beginning from him being a newborn baby, as she sings a sweet rhyme to him. The story shows them growing up, and growing old and still the love is deep in their hearts.
(I can't read this story without thinking of FRIENDS though!)
