By July, our homeschool days start to feel a little different.
We're still doing our usual sit-down lessons and keeping up with the basics, but there's definitely a shift. It's almost the Summer holidays, things are slowing down instead of speeding up. We spend more time outdoors and make the most of the long, warm days while they're here. (Unless it's too hot, then I can't deal with it and just hide away inside!)
The mornings don't feel quite so rushed, we're not constantly battling rain and dark evenings, and it's much easier to move learning outside. Reading on a picnic blanket, doing maths in the garden or taking a nature break between lessons somehow feels much nicer than being stuck indoors all day.
I think one of the things I love most about homeschooling is being able to embrace the seasons and let them influence our days. July feels like the perfect time to ease off a little and make room for more creativity, more time outside and more simple fun.

Before long, autumn will be here and we'll be back to cosy mornings and darker evenings again. For now, we're just enjoying July exactly as it is.
