Winnie The Pooh Salt Dough Fun
I loved Winnie The Pooh as a child. The stories and books, the tv shows and films. One of my favourite toys as a child was a large, classic looking Winnie The Pooh. My brother loved Tigger & my sister loved Piglet, we even made our own Winnie The Pooh Club. It was so much fun!
I've introduced my little ones to the stories and characters now, they are such lovely, iconic characters that I feel every child should know about. And as today is Winnie The Pooh Day and I knew we had to do something to celebrate!
We've never made Salt Dough before so I thought that would be something fun to try, and I was right! We decided to make some Winnie The Pooh themed salt dough characters!
For the Salt Dough you will need:
- 1/2 cup of salt
- 1/2 cup of warmish water
- 1 cup plain flour
1. Add the salt and flour to a big bowl and mix well to combine.
2. Slowly stir in the water until the dough is combined. If it's too sticky you might need to add a tad more flour.
3. Knead the dough and then roll it out onto the work surface.
4. Using cutters or children's cutlery, let them cut out all the shapes they want. We went for two Winnie The Pooh's, a Piglet, some Bees and a Jar of Hunny!
5. Move the shapes onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and pop in the oven at approx 70o for about an hour. Take them out, flip them over and cook for another hour (or until firm).
6. When completely cooled, they can be painted!
Have you made Salt Dough before?
