Family-Friendly Gaming This Festive Season

Family-Friendly Gaming This Festive Season

If you’re looking for something to keep the kids busy over the holidays, 2025 has some brilliant family-friendly games to check out. Whether your kids love adventures, racing, or Christmas magic, there’s something here for everyone.

Survival Kids
First up, Survival Kids from KONAMI is perfect for kids who love a bit of adventure. You explore colourful worlds, solve little puzzles, and figure out how to get through fun challenges. It’s not scary, it’s not stressful, and my kids could play it on their own without getting frustrated. The bright graphics and cheerful music make it super inviting, and even if you don’t know much about gaming, it’s easy to sit back and watch them enjoy themselves.

Paw Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship
If your kids are obsessed with Paw Patrol, this one will be a hit! Rescue Wheels: Championship lets the pups race around in monster trucks (yes, monster trucks!) across all sorts of colourful tracks. There are tricks, boosts, and fun little treats to collect, and it’s simple enough for little ones to play by themselves. Plus, there’s a split-screen option, so siblings (or mum and dad) can join in the fun without any arguing over turns. My kids were giggling the whole time – even when they crashed off ramps, they just laughed and got back on.

The Elf on the Shelf: Christmas Heroes
And for a bit of festive magic, Elf on the Shelf: Christmas Heroes is a lovely little game for younger kids. You get to be a Scout Elf, help Santa, and collect “Christmas Spirit” along the way. There are cute mini-games and simple levels that even really young kids can handle, so no need to worry about them getting stuck. Everything is bright, sparkly, and very Christmassy – think candy canes, twinkly lights, and snow everywhere. Older kids might find it a bit too easy, but for little ones, it’s a safe and fun way to get excited for Christmas.

All three of these games are really about letting kids have fun in a safe, cheerful way. Whether it’s solving puzzles, racing monster trucks, or helping a tiny elf save Christmas, these games are perfect for keeping the little ones entertained — and giving mums and dads a bit of quiet time.

Big thanks to KONAMI and Outright Games for bringing so much fun to family gaming this year! I was gifted these games to review, all opinions are my own.
